Delta Private Jets Announces Expansion With the Launch of a New Maintenance Facility at Sheltair Aviation in Ft. Lauderdale

Delta Private Jets announced that it is expanding its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities by opening a new location at Sheltair Aviation on the grounds of the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

The new MRO facility in South Florida joins the flagship MRO, centrally located at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, which provides a full list of services including aircraft inspections, mechanical and structural repair services, avionics repair and installation, engine change, aircraft conformity, and advanced troubleshooting. In addition, both locations provide installation and repair of Gogo Business Aviation’s®inflight Internet connectivity systems and Garmin ADS-B installation for aircraft on the Delta Private Jets fleet.

Delta Private Jets’ new facility includes a 15,000-square-foot hangar and an additional 2,200-square-foot office space on Sheltair property in Ft. Lauderdale. This Sheltair complex is comprised of 548,000 square feet of hangar, office, and Fixed Base Operation (FBO) terminal space on the north and west side of Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. This new facility, in the world’s largest business jet market, will support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance needs with an on-site team servicing multiple locations in the South Florida area and providing convenient access for international operators.

“The addition of the South Florida MRO provides us the unique position of being an operator and a maintenance service provider, giving us consistent control of our aircraft while offering retail services for Part 135 and Part 91 operators as well,” said Gary Hammes, President of Delta Private Jets.

Delta Private Jets is currently servicing aircraft needs in the South Florida area with a team of trained technicians and will grow to a full service 24/7 operation later this year.

“We are thrilled for such an established, highly-reputable brand as Delta Private Jets to have chosen Sheltair FLL for its location to launch its first MRO in South Florida,” said Todd Anderson, Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Development, Sheltair Aviation. “It is a true testament to the strength of our market’s thriving aviation industry, and we look forward to supporting the efforts and the services they will provide to our region.”
