Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH has appointed Mr Patrick Muller as Head of Operations for the airport company. Patrick Muller is an independent consultant and worked as Head of Planning and Analysis at Dubai Airport between 2015 and 2016. From 2010 to 2014 Mr Muller was COO of Doha International Airport and Hamad International Airport, and from 2008 to 2010 he was Head of Flight Operations at Fraport Saudi Arabia Ltd. at King Abdul Aziz International Airport. Mr Muller was Head of Flight Operations at Heathrow Airport between 2005 and 2006. Other positions in his professional career were at the airports Frankfurt-Hahn and Frankfurt.
Since the former Head of Operations left the company on 30.06.2018, the timely replacement for the new Head was necessary. In particular in terms of the ongoing process of the operational launch of Terminal 1 (FGT), airline acquisition and coordination of the largest business division of more than 700 employees, fast staffing was of great importance. With Mr Muller the airport gains a recognised expert with specific ORAT experience. In addition to this is Mr Muller’s broad and wide-ranging practical experience in the field of operations both in Germany and abroad.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: ‘I am delighted that the airport company has found so quickly such a competent Head of Operations as Patrick Muller. In addition to the opening of BER in October 2020 with operational commissioning and trial operations, Mr Muller’s main task will be maintaining good flight operations at Tegel and Schönefeld.’
